Seeking ways to reduce or eliminate costs to our customers is a primary strategy when defining the product lines for Hammond Lead Products.
One of the issues we recognized within the lead-acid battery manufacturing sector was the long duration (several hours) of curing time needed to fully cure the positive plate. If curing times could be reduced significantly, many cost saving advantages could then be realized. With this idea in mind, HLP proceeded to develop our SureCure (Tetra Basic Lead Sulfate) additive.
Short curing times translates into cost savings in overhead and factory/equipment expenses, but the benefits of SureCure go way beyond that. SureCure permits equivalent performance with less lead, allowing for a possible 3% reduction in plate weight, which, in

major battery manufacturers. Results gained from this data indicate improved cranking amps, improved reserve capacity and enhanced free-lead oxidation in both the negative and positive plates.
